Jungley makes accessories made from a vegan leather, made from leaves. Not only is this kind to animals, but it’s also good for the planet. The company also works with reforestation partners worldwide, to plant a tree for each item sold. Planting trees is the most helpful way to reduce climate change. The company name is inspired by the Italian word for ‘wild’, and is helping to make a positive impact, by taking a walk on the wild side! The range includes a folding card holder (above).
It’s not true that leather is a by-product of the meat industry. It’s usually a separate industry with high pollution rates for tanning – and most items are made in countries with little or no animal welfare laws (even the designer brands). Although we are not quite there with ‘biodegradable vegan leather’, things are getting better – Mirum is an new greener plant-based leather that is coming onto the market.
