Green Tulip Eat/Drink Tool Kit is made entirely from certified organic bamboo, and neatly packaged in an organic cotton mesh drawstring bag. The set includes a reusable drinking straw (with cleaning brush) alongside a knife, fork and spoon cutlery set.
Plastic disposable cutlery not only breaks down into microplastics, but the sharp teeth and prongs of knives and forks can harm soft-bellied marine wildlife like jellyfish. Plastic cutlery is the 7th most common item found on beaches. One Portuguese airline has removed plastic cutlery from its services, and France banned all disposable cutlery years ago. Pret a Manger introduced a ban on plastic cutlery in their sandwich shops because ‘they cared for the planet’. But with a consumer backlash, they re-installed it. Friends of the Earth note that when companies are purely driven by profit, legislation is needed. Some sets include stainless steel straws. Do not use these on the move (nor for children or people with dexterity issues), as they are not flexible, so could injure.
