Magic shell is that hard chocolate coating that you can use to cover ice-cream desserts. Originally produced in the US by Smucker’s, it is a syrup that hardens into a shell when poured onto a cold surface, like ice cream. Available in many flavours, it is usually not stored in the fridge, or else it would harden. So keep it in a safe place away from pets and children.
How to Make Magic Shell (Minimalist Baker) is a post to take you through. Just 2 ingredients (dark chocolate and coconut oil).
Usually made with coconut and sunflower oil, both contain fat and sugar that produces a mix that is solid at higher temperatures (paraffin wax is not used, despite some people believing it is!)
Healthy Magic Shell (Green Smoothie Gourmet) comes in 3 flavours: you can also use it for cupcakes or popsicles, as chocolate, peanut butter or white magic.
